Expecting the unexpected can save your pet’s life. If your pet appears to be in distress or is showing signs of a health emergency, contact our animal hospital in Yorkville for assistance. We ask that pet owners call us when they’re on their way to our facility so that we can prepare an exam room and any equipment we think we’ll need. When time is of the essence, we aim to be as efficient as possible in providing emergency care.

Signs that your pet is having an emergency may include any of the following:

  • Choking/difficulty breathing
  • Rapid/irregular heart beat
  • Seizures
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Pale nose and/or gums
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Elevated temperature (heatstroke)
  • Possible broken bones, internal injury
  • Unable to eliminate
  • Chronic vomiting, diarrhea
